Before being evacuated, the rescue should be authorised by the patient’s travel insurance company.

Insurance

It is COMPULSORY for all riders to have insurance that covers you for motorbike tours in Indonesia.

There are a number of insurers that specialise in these kinds of adventures.

When purchasing your travel insurance, make sure the company is aware you will be riding an off-road 250cc motorcycle. Also be sure they meet the requirements of your driving license . If your driving license doesn't meet the criteria, the insurance company may not pay out in the event of a claim.

World Nomads covers motorcycle trail and off-road riding on their standard coverage. You can purchase their packages while on the road.

It is important to note that while some travel credit cards offer mild insurance coverage, it is often not comprehensive. If you lose your luggage, get stranded due to airline problems, or need to travel for family medical emergencies, you may be covered. However, it is very rare, if not impossible, to find a travel credit card that offers medical coverage in any capacity. If you’re looking for travel insurance, it is suggested you look elsewhere for a more comprehensive plan.

FAQ

What if I'm the only person on the trip?

In the case we don’t meet the minimum amount of 4 riders we will ALWAYS operate your motorcycle adventure even if you're on your own - and at the agreed price! The only changes we may make is that the support vehicle and some of the crew will not follow the tour. Apart from that, the motorcycle expedition will continue as planned.

What are the daily distances ?

Daily distances are usually between 80 - 150 km but may change due to road conditions & weather.

Our tour difficulty level really depends on your own riding ability & experience. Generally most of our motorbike adventures are manageable for anyone in good physical condition and who has some off-road riding experience. If you’re finding the going a little too tough, our guides can easily adapt & modify routes to accommodate the skill levels of riders.

Do I need a licence to ride in Indonesia ?

Yes, you must have a valid drivers license from your country of origin. Also, if your driving license is not also specified for motorcycles, you must check with your insurance company if they will cover you.

Some areas like Bali also require an international license that can easily be organized by your local drivers license authorities.

What sort of terrain can I expect to encounter on the tour?

Our off-road motorcycle trips have a mixture of gravel, loose stones, mud, rocks, sand and some tarmac.

Do I need some off-road experience to join your trips?

Some off-road experience is essential if you want to follow us on one of our longer adventure tours. If you haven't had any experience or it's been quite some time since you have ridden, it’s advised to do a quick off-road riding course before you join us, or sign up for a 1 day tour first.

Do you supply riding gear?

In most cases people prefer to bring their own equipment, but if you need gear we can rent you the basic safety equipment needed to ride. Our safety gear is subject to various sizes & availability.

Please notify us well in advance if you require safety equipment.
